Hans-Christian Meyer

Tiger of Sweden has appointed Hans-Christian Meyer as CEO; Meyer joins the Stockholm-based premium brand from Ralph Lauren.

He will take up his new position on 1 September and report directly to the board of parent company IC Group. Deputy chairman Peter Thorsen said he would bring “a fresh perspective and incredible depth of brand experience to Tiger of Sweden”.

“I appreciate Hans-Christian’s unique sensibility, his honesty and his authenticity. He is an exceptionally strong leader with the passion and energy we need. This, combined with his collaborative working style and his intense focus on results, will put us in a stronger position and lead our company into the future,” Thorsen added.

During his 25-year career Meyer has held senior positions at some of the leading fashion and apparel brands. Most recently he spent 11 years at Ralph Lauren, where he held the position of President Retail, EMEA as well as being part of its Global Senior Management team. Prior to his current role at Ralph Lauren, which he has held since July 2015, Meyer was Senior Vice President & Managing Director, Scandinavia & Baltics working across multiple distribution channels including wholesale and directly operated retail.

“I am thrilled to join Tiger of Sweden and the team, in my second home city Stockholm,” said Meyer, who is Danish but has lived abroad for many years. “I believe the company has an enormous potential to continue expanding in the marketplace by strengthening its appeal to more consumers globally,” he said.

His appointment comes shortly after the brand appointed former Burberry design director Christoffer Lundman as head of creative and design.

1 week ago by indlondon London’s Oxford Street could be pedestrianised by the end of next year and here’s what it might look like. Under bold new plans unveiled by the Mayor of London Sadiq Khan and Westminster Council this morning, buses, taxis and other forms of transport would be banished from this iconic street from Oxford Circus to Orchard Street (which runs parallel to Selfridges). The plans are subject to a public consultation until 17 December and, if approved, could be implemented by December 2018.
