Fashion brands can now access the logistics infrastructure and know-how of ecommerce giant Zalando, as the business announces the successful launch of its Zalando Fulfillment Solutions initiative.

The German-based business will now be able to take over control of order fulfillment for its partners from inbound to return, with solutions that can be adapted for a brand’s specific needs. This latest initiative complements the digital services it already offers to brands through Brand Solutions or Zalando Media Solutions.

“The Zalando platform is an operating system for the fashion world, with multiple ways of integrating all sorts of fashion contributors and stakeholders, catering to their specific needs. It offers not only digital services such as or advertising but from now on also fulfillment solutions and thus, becomes the business strategy for brand and retail partners,” said Jan Bartels, VP Logistics Product.

Zalando’s logistics network will soon comprise eight fulfillment centers in five countries (Germany, Italy, France, Sweden and Poland) and it is piloting new services such as same-day delivery, geo-localised delivery or return on demand.

“Zalando has set industry-wide delivery standards and keeps developing innovation for the last mile. Moreover, within the last six years, we built up a strong logistics network and gained deep logistics expertise. All of that is now accessible for external partners,” said Bartels.

Five brands are already signed up to the service including Bestseller, Elvi, EVITA, Motion Fashion and Surf4Shoes.

1 week ago by indlondon London's Oxford Street could be pedestrianised by the end of next year and here's what it might look like. Under bold new plans unveiled by the Mayor of London Sadiq Khan and Westminster Council this morning, buses, taxis and other forms of transport would be banished from this iconic street from Oxford Circus to Orchard Street (which runs parallel to Selfridges). The plans are subject to a public consultation until 17 December and, if approved, could be implemented by December 2018. The centre piece of the campaign, produced by Grey London, is a 90-second and in which Paddington inadvertently saves Christmas by interrupting a burglar he mistakes for Santa Claus and helping him deliver all the presents he has stolen to their rightful owners.
