Finery has named John Hind as its new CEO; the former ME+EM interim CEO will join the British high street brand next week.

Hind said he had been watching the “impressive growth” of Finery, which launched in February 2015, and said he saw “strong potential to build the brand, product offer, customer experience, digital and International operations further and take this innovative and exciting brand to the next stage of its development”.

As a result of the appointment Finery co-founder and CEO Nickyl Raithatha will move to a board position and will continue to remain involved as a shareholder and adviser. Raithatha has led the business since its launch and it now has sales of £16m and is sold in 10 countries via its own website and through partnerships with John Lewis, Selfridges and Zalando.

“Building Finery to a point where we have hundreds of thousands of loyal customers has been an incredible and exciting journey, and I’m so proud of all the achievements of the team here. As we transition the business from pure-play digital towards omni-channel, I’m confident that John is the right person to lead Finery in its next stage of growth. I look forward to continuing to support John and the success of Finery in years to come,” Raithatha said.

Hind has been heading up British contemporary womenswear brand ME+EM since December 2015 and prior to that was with WE Fashion in the Netherlands for five years, latterly as CEO. He was managing director of Brooks Brothers from 2004 to 2008.
