Boohoo.com now has 4.2m active users

Boohoo.com, the young fashion etailer which positions itself as “The Global Fashion Leader for a Social Generation”, now boasts 4.2m active users (an increase of 30% year-on-year) according to its latest financial figures for the three months ending 31 May.

The AIM-listed business also revealed impressive growth in revenue for the period which was up 41% at £58.2m. Around £37.4m of its revenue was generated in the UK, with the rest of Europe accounting for £6.9m and the rest of the world £13.9m.

Joint chief executives Mahmud Kamani and Carol Kane said the results were slightly ahead of expectations. They also noted that profitability had been increased as marketing spend, as a percentage of revenue, had been reduced.

“We continue to broaden our product range, increase our fashion appeal and offer incredible prices. Active customer numbers, order frequency, basket size and conversion continue to climb,” the chief executives said, adding that they now expect the business to achieve growth of between 25% and 30% for the full financial year.

The business recently launched a standalone site for its menswear offer BoohooMAN, targeting a 16-24 trend-aware consumer. Its men’s and women’s product offer starts from as little as £4 and its sub brands cover categories including plus size, petite, tall, denim and activewear.
