The Modist introduces its own label Layeur by The Modist

The Modist

The Modist, the online destination for luxury modest fashion which was launched last year, has introduced its own label, called Layeur by The Modist, today.

Layeur by The Modist comprises a range of wardrobe staples such as jersey tops to statement pieces such as floor length gowns with prices ranging from £68 for a simple top to £1,190 for a matching full length dress and coat.

The line is sold on the site alongside a special edit of premium and luxury labels such as Missoni, Lanvin, Mary Katrantzou, Equipment and Ganni,

Founder and CEO Ghizlan Guenez said the business had carefully considered fabric weight and cut when designing the collection to deliver the look, feel and coverage its customers required.

“We believe that a multitude of layers make up who you are. They tell your story and with the launch of Layeur, a luxury label dedicated to creating must-have pieces for the modern, modest dresser, we want to celebrate that.

“We really listened to our customers, considering their needs and desires when approaching design, from the opacity, weight and cut of the fabric ensuring women get the coverage they need whilst also the fashion and comfort that fuels how they feel,” Guenez said.

The line has also been designed with versatility in mind with each piece designed to be worn in different ways such as a silk buttoned-down dress which can be worn open as a light-weight duster coat or over a pair of cropped jogging trousers.

Silk shirts feature concealed buttons for maximum coverage while jerseys are made from lightweight, breathable tencel, with maximum opacity. And to prove modest doesn’t have to mean conservative The Modist has injected statement elements into the range with vintage-inspired prints created in-house, from abstract mosaics to bold florals, and polka dots to leopard print.

Layeur by The Modist is available to buy online from today (24 April) in sizes 6-24.
