Winner of the Vogue/BFC Designer Fashion Fund, Sophia Webster, has been chosen to design the official tote bag for the next edition of London Fashion Weekend.

London Fashion Weekend takes place at the Saatchi Gallery in Chelsea from 22-26 September, directly after London Fashion Week. The consumer facing event features “curated shopping galleries” including more than 150 British brands, such as Goat, Lucy Choi, French Sole and Linda Farrow.

A group of London Fashion Week designers will also stage catwalk shows at the event and this time the line-up includes J.JS Lee, Preen by Thornton Bregazzi and SIBLING.

Webster’s tote features one of the signature prints of peacock feathers from her SS17 collection. The footwear and accessories designer will also take part in one of the industry talks at London Fashion Weekend on 22 September at 4.30pm.

“I am delighted to be partnering with the British Fashion Council for London Fashion Weekend this season. To celebrate this partnership and exciting time of year in fashion, I have created a limited edition tote that draws inspiration from my Spring/Summer 2017 collection. I can’t wait to unveil the tote in September,” Webster said.

Webster has had a big year. In March she scooped the Vogue/BFC Designer Fashion Fund prize, worth £200,000, and shortly afterwards opened her first boutique in London’s Mount Street. Her label was founded in 2012 and is also sold via her own website and some of the world’s most prestigious multi-brand stores such as Net-a-Porter.com and Matchesfashion.com.

“Sophia’s beautiful designs perfectly capture British creativity and are the perfect match for London Fashion Weekend. It has been great to work with Sophia on the tote bags for this season and I look forward to seeing them being used all over London and further afield!” said British Fashion Council chief executive Caroline Rush CBE.
