High street retailer New Look has been announced as a sponsor of the next edition of London Fashion Week; a partnership that will see it host a kick-off party on the eve of the event and launch a curated collection to mark LFW called “The Edit”.

The launch party, which will welcome influencers and press, will take place at LFW’s official venue of The Store Studios, 180 Strand, while The Edit will comprise 20 womenswear items, including footwear and accessories which encapsulate the latest trends. The collection will be made available globally from early September.

“At New Look, we want to make the latest fashion accessible for everyone, which is why we are really excited to be embarking on such a prestigious partnership with the British Fashion Council and London Fashion Week,” said New Look CEO Anders Kristiansen.

“This iconic international fashion moment provides the perfect platform for us to offer our global audience style inspiration and demonstrate who we are as a brand – our personality, individuality, and dedication to self-expression – as we continue to elevate our fashion credentials,” he added.

To involve New Look customers, inside and outside of the capital in LFW, the retailer will be hosting events at its Oxford Street store across the weekend with further events staged in partnership with the BFC at stores in Manchester and Bristol.

BFC CEO Caroline Rush said the partnership was part of the ongoing strategy to make LFW accessible to the widest possible audience. “Our partnership with New Look will take London Fashion Week to a fashion-savvy global audience, aligning with the British Fashion Council’s long term strategy of bringing our platforms closer to the consumer,” she said. “New Look’s positioning of female empowerment and inclusiveness are brand objectives that we align with and we look forward to helping empower a younger generation through fashion.”

London Fashion Week runs from 15-19 September. The full schedule of events can be accessed here.
