Mytheresa.com puts new logistics centre into operation

Luxury ecommerce business Mytheresa.com has moved into its new high-tech logistics centre in Kirchheim-Heimstetten, Germany.

The centre, which took 1.5 years to build, and covers 16,000 sqm of space and has 32,000 sqm of rack space over four levels, which gives the business a 60% increase in capacity over its previous centre. Mytheresa.com delivers to 120 countries globally in a maximum of 72 hours and in order to prepare a parcel quickly for dispatch, a 1km conveyor system connects all four levels of the warehouse with the dispatch stations.

A specially designed app scans storage locations, as well as products, optimises itineraries and displays digital picking lists. When the completeness of an order is confirmed via app, the “commissioning” is finalised and the products are packed into Mytheresa.com boxes.

“One of mytheresa.com’s most significant competitive advantages is its fast delivery times, its beautiful signature packaging and its immediate processing of returns. The construction of a larger, highly modern logistics centre seems as a logical consequence of the outstanding growth of our company. Thereby we can maintain our high service level and exceed it in the future,” said president Michael Kilger.

Around 150 staff are employed at the centre which includes departments such as incoming goods, shipping, returns and warehouse, as well as styling and the in-house photo studio.
