The Industry is pleased to announced the next event in its Masterclass series, which will tackle the subject of Raising Finance for Starting Out and Accelerating Growth. The event takes place on the afternoon of 8 November at Andaz London Liverpool Street.
Aimed at start-ups and brands looking to step up to the next level with the backing of an investor, the event will feature leading speakers from the realms of law, private equity and entrepreneurship.
Speakers confirmed so far include:
Tahir Basheer, partner, Sheridans - Tahir is partner in the Digital Media, Music, Fashion and Brands Groups at leading law firm Sheridans and has a particular focus on the convergence of creative content and technology. He is listed in The Legal 500 for his expertise on digital and convergence matters and also for his work with interactive entertainment companies.
Rebekah Hall, founder, Botanic Lab - Rebekah followed her studies in economics with a successful 10-year career as a city corporate financier, before moving to the other side of the fence and setting up her own business in the health drinks sector. Rebekah will offer a unique perspective on financing other people’s businesses as well as seeking finance for her own.
Kate Levy, head of creative businesses, Wilson Wright – Kate was appointed as head of creative businesses at leading London accountancy practice Wilson Wright this year and looks after big-name clients in the media, entertainment, fashion and beauty space. She will use her considerable expertise to present on the different sources of funding available to start-ups and growing companies in the fashion industry.
NEW SPEAKER! Julia Elliott Brown, founder & CEO, Enter The Arena – Julia has successfully fundraised for business growth multiple times via both crowdfunding and institutional investors. She has over 20 years commercial experience building businesses from idea through to growth, including the award winning online shoe design brand Upper Street. Her consultancy business now supports entrepreneurs prepare for and execute successful crowdfunding campaigns.
Event format and location
The event will take place from 2.15pm to 4.15pm followed by networking drinks until 5pm on Tuesday 8 November 2016.
Delegates will get the chance to ask questions of the expert speakers during the presentations and network with them, and fellow entrepreneurs, afterwards at one of the City’s leading luxury boutique hotels, the five-star Andaz London Liverpool Street.
You will also receive electronic versions of any presentations delivered on the day for future reference.
