Harvey Nichols has unveiled the revamped designer accessories and jewellery destination at its Knightsbridge flagship in time for the festive trading period.

The unveiling marks the completion of an ambitious overhaul of the entire ground floor of the store. Located adjacent to the Sloane Street entrance the new accessories destination has been created to offer a contemporary yet luxurious feel.

A key design feature is an architectural wall constructed from marble, copper and a soft pastel resin that exhibits an edit of handbags from floor to ceiling from brands including Valentino, Givenchy, Alexander McQueen and Mark Cross; new and exclusive brands on offer include Perrin Paris, Tyler Ellis and Ming Ray.

An additional feature wall, showcasing soft accessories has also been installed with back lighting, making it feel more like an art exhibition than a retail display. The retailer has also enhanced its scarf offer and now stocks Lilly E Violetta, Ama Pure and Hockley with luxury cashmere from Denis Colomb. Exclusive millinery collections have also been introduced from Sayta Twena and London label Victoria Grant.

As with the store’s new beauty hall, services are also a key part of the experience. A five-star Store Concierge Service offers an “effortless way to shop” as well as a Handbag Clinic offers expert restoration and repair of customers’ existing handbags.

“I’m really proud of the new Designer Accessories destination, which now sits in a more prominent location on the Ground Floor,” said Harvey Nichols buying manager for accessories Tina Lamb. “The redesign perfectly reflects our curated edit of brands for a more coherent overall offering. We have introduced a number of new and exclusive collections to sit alongside our existing designer brands that I think will excel in this new space.”

The new jewellery suite now acts as a “bridge” between accessories and beauty. New and exclusive lines have been added to the existing brand mix from the Talisman Gallery, Annoushka and Marco Bicego, including exclusive collections from Ortaea, Selim Mouzannar and Tasaki and shop-in-shops from Kojis, Niquesa, Mozafarian and Ara Vartanian.

Eclectic furniture, such as sculptural wooden counters, raised vintage display cabinets and individual glass display boxes, have been employed to showcase the jewellery. While carefully considered lighting and plush velvet seating “creates a luxurious and glamorous environment for customers to indulge in” while shopping in the space. A main feature in the new is the perforated bronze ceiling, which is designed to reflect the precious stones on display.

Designed in partnership with Virgile+Partners, the designer accessories and jewellery destination spans 750sqm. Its completion marks the second phase in the revamp of the iconic store. Development will now focus on the main structural work of the 18th Century Harvey Nichols building.
