Jonathan Saunders and Corrie Nielsen sit among a prestigious list of finalists selected for the annual Scottish Fashion Awards.
Congratulations to The Industry‘s Corrie Nielsen and Jonathan Saunders – two of our leading designers shortlisted for the Scottish Fashion Awards set to take place later this summer. Honouring the very best in Scottish fashion, June’s star-studded ceremony celebrates everything from Scotland’s seamstresses to it’s national supermodels.
Industry member, Jonathan Saunders has been nominated for first prize alongside Christopher Kane, Holly Fulton and Louise Gray. Currently wearing the British Fashion Council/Vogue Designer Fashion Fund crown, the countdown is now on to see whether the Glaswegian designer will also add ‘Scottish Designer of the Year’ to his succession of highly acclaimed industry awards.
International Industry designer, Corrie Nielsen has also been shortlisted for ‘Best Use of Scottish Fabric’. In an Autumn/Winter 2012 collection reminiscent of her Scottish ancestors, Corrie flew the blue and white flag using a dramatic array of traditional tartans. Her ingenious use of Royal Stewart and Burns Check has made her a strong contender in a category where Mulberry, APC and Brora are also finalists.
Winners will be selected by an expert panel of judges including Vivienne Westwood‘s Brigitte Stepputtis, the BFC‘s Caroline Rush and Industry member and Vogue.com Editor, Dolly Jones.
